Ted Seifried

Chief Market Strategist

Ted Seifried is Vice President and Chief Market Strategist at Zaner Ag Hedge, specializing in agricultural hedging. Ted's expertise includes futures, futures spreads, outright options, and option combination strategies.

Working with large to mid-size grain and livestock producers, Ted embraces a multi-strategy philosophy to adapt to changing market conditions. Ted says, "Timing is everything in futures trading as it is in life. A successful trader needs to know how to change their trading style to adapt to the current conditions of the market."

Ted attended the University of Western Illinois, where he double majored in Economics and Sociology. He spent summers and winter breaks on the CME as a runner, where he learned about the futures business. After graduating from college, he spent five years as an institutional broker in commercial agriculture with R.J. O'Brien and Associates. He partnered with an in-house institutional broker who mentored him in the institutional hedge business.

Post RJO, Ted pursued Lind-Waldock, where he honed his abilities in the speculative retail markets. In 2009, Ted brought his skills to Zaner Ag Hedge, where he specializes in hedging and speculative trading.
